Happy November! I decided to write something daily here all month… hope you’ll stop by occasionally to see what’s on my mind.

What Matters

On this “Thanksgiving Saturday,” the scene that greeted me in the swank Lower Greenville neighborhood of Dallas (groovy AirBnB with C’s brother’s Tulsa crew) was the sun burning off the early chill of a crystal clear November morning.

As I dropped John at DFW and then headed south… a question for today:

What matters to you, right now?” The answer could simply be a one-word response: Family. Health. Resources.

  • In work I want to focus on delivering an important initiative for a public client – this one including national media; perception and influence and fact surrounding a large topic affecting everyone
  • A personal goal is to make this next year about travel. Time to reacquaint with: Chicago, the Michigan shore, and family members abroad. So: One year of travel coming up.

Currently reading/streaming/listening:

Currently drinking: Community Coffee – black. (A random aside: Thanksgiving is one of the “Eating Majors”… the other three being Christmas, 4th of July and Easter. I would put Super Sunday here, too, as “the Fifth Major”)

Currently contemplating: Stuff that matters. Also: will there be snow during The Game today. Hoping so. (Spoiler alert: there was).

Current state: Gratitude, and a great hoops “hangover” from watching multiple games with the boys last night… a high-level Duke-Gonzaga matchup, Iowa State (2-22 a year ago) smacks an annoying/cocky, but talented Memphis team. (and what is Larry Brown doing, exactly?)… Bell’s Two-Hearted (last night), Cutthroat, billiards and a shootaround with the Wade boys while discussing Baylor’s (bball) defense, Texas’ upcoming game at The Greg (awesome!), and the resurgent (aka “sick”) Golden State Warriors.

Current favorite splurge: Fire in the fireplace, two tv screens in use — YouTubeTV for Iron Bowl / and Penn State-MSU. I do not often say these words – but Thank You, Michigan. If you are about to play in the Bedlam game you have Playoff Dreams… unless Bama does what Bama does (spoiler: It did).
